Dave Brat: Everyone Should Get To Enjoy The Dignity of Work-Keep Farm Bill

Published

on

Monday, Rep. Dave Brat, (R-Virginia) has an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal making the case to keep the House-passed work requirement provisions in the 2018 Farm Bill.

“Get to work Senators,” wrote Brat, a member of the House Freedom Caucus.

“This week a congressional conference committee gets to work resolving the differences between the House and Senate versions of the 2018 farm bill, which authorizes the federal food-stamp program. Among the most contested issues will be the work requirements for able-bodied, single adults passed by the House. Republicans must stand up for fiscal responsibility and the dignity that comes with work.

I am deeply concerned for the poor and vulnerable. I believe in a social safety net for those who are truly in need. Unfortunately, America’s current safety nets don’t always live up to their promise or purpose. Since 1965, the percentage of working-age men outside the labor force—that is, men who are neither working nor seeking work—has more than tripled, rising from 3.3% to 11.6%. If we really want to combat poverty, we should evaluate how successful our social programs are at moving people off public assistance—not how many stay on. The Democrats’ preferred welfare strategy encourages dependency on government. The GOP would like to see welfare recipients become self-sustaining workers. The reason is simple: Work affirms human dignity,” said Bratt.

BRAT WANTS TO ALLOW EVERYONE THE DIGNITY OF WORK

With the historic low unemployment numbers in black and Hispanic populations, Brat wants everyone to enjoy the opportunity of hard work. Democrats resist this message.  Brat calls on the Senate to support his economic ideas.

STANDING UP FOR THE LITTLE GUY

In this 2014 WSJ article, “Dave Brat the Economics Professor Who Defeated Eric Cantor

“Mr. Brat’s victory was fueled by fury with the GOP establishment on fiscal issues and immigration.  He campaigned on opposing the 2008 government bailout program, the budget deal reached by Rep. Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D., Wash.) and a general sense that leadership ignored the little people.

“The lives of most Americans aren’t getting any better year after year.  Their wages are down or flat as the cost of living is going up.”

Brat is up for re-election in 2018

MA Mayor Freaks Out Because People Like To Keep Their Own Money

Published

on

Tuesday, a Mayor near Boston illustrated why we need “Economic Nationalism”, by his response to the Donald J. Trump’s agenda of Tax Reform.

“8th term Mayor of Somerville, Massachusetts. Working 24/7 to make the American Urban Renaissance happen. I’ll never drink Sam Adams (beer) again.” posted Joseph A. Curtatone, the Mayor of Somerville.

YET HE HATES MINORITY UNEMPLOYMENT:

What is the result of that tax reform?  Historic low unemployment rates in the country for minorities.  Citizens are slaves to the government no more and the Mayor of Boston is not happy. Ironic?  Indeed.

Then doubles down:

The Mainstream Media carries his message to the people:

SUPPORTING ECONOMIC FREEDOM IS REBELLION:

According to Steve Bannon’s website Citizens Of The American Republic, Economic Nationalism is:

“Economic Nationalism is the belief that every policy enacted by the federal government should be for the betterment of the citizens of our country. We call it Maximizing Citizenship Value.

Economic Nationalists believe in good jobs at good wages.  Good jobs at good wages come, for example, from domestic-oriented job-creators, such as manufacturing, farming, and mining.  So COAR will protect the right of Americans to earn a good living.  Furthermore, COAR believes that the public and private sectors must work together, as a transparent and accountable team, to build massive amounts of new infrastructure, and to develop new technologies to advance our national strength and economic well-being.

Most urgently, unfair multinational trade deals, burdensome regulations, and high taxes on the middle class hurt American workers, as well as our economy as a whole. We will fight for fair, bilateral trade deals, less regulation on small businesses, and lower taxes for the American people.”

FULL STATEMENT

TAX REFORM IS TAX REBELLION TO THE ELITE MAYOR:

We have been here before.

WHAT WOULD SAM ADAMS SAY? WATCH:

He defied a King, shaped an organization, and became a Founding Father:

WHAT FORM OF RESISTANCE?

We have been here before… Let’s hope we can keep our hands clean with the Ballot Box in Nov. and settle this idea of who deserves to keep their own money, once and for all.

WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING OVER:

Trump Doesn’t Care About Fuel Emmisions- Transforming EPA Regulations

Published

on

Tuesday the Washington Times had a meltdown about the Trump administration’s future plans for easing the Former President Barack H. Obama’s obsession with weather change policies for fuel emissions.

“A draft of a regulation prepared this summer would freeze an Obama-era program that was intended to improve fuel efficiency and cut pollution.

In excerpts obtained by The Associated Press, the administration argues that heavier vehicles are safer than lighter ones and that people would drive more — and be exposed to increased risk — if their cars get better mileage.

Transportation experts dispute the arguments. Automotive engineer Giorgio Rizzoni of Ohio State University calls the administration’s safety claims “a stretch,” reported the Washington Times.

DI FI SAYS:  WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE! AGAIN

According to The Hill, “The Trump administration is planning a proposal to block California regulators from enforcing their own emissions standards for vehicles sold in the state.

Bloomberg News reported Monday that the proposal will be part of a regulation the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will jointly propose in the coming days to freeze or reduce federal greenhouse gas emissions and fuel efficiency rules for cars.

The proposal would set up a battle with California over whether the Clean Air Act allows its decades-long aggressive crackdown on car emissions. The fight is almost certain to go to court if the administration pursues it.

The rules have become part of California’s environmental identity,” they reported.

TRUMP’S WAR WITH GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS CONTINUES

From Left leading Axios, “The Trump administration is preparing to take a two-pronged approach to rolling back regulations cutting methane emissions from oil and gas wells, Axios has learned,” they reported.

The plans, as articulated by an administration official and corroborated by others tracking the issue closely, signal the EPA is inclined to pursue a more aggressive rollback instead of a replacement approach.

  1. The EPA is planning to soon issue a smaller, more technical rule-making that environmentalists say will weaken the Obama-era rule currently on the books, which affects new oil and gas wells only,” they reported.
