It’s raining money in America and Democrats are miserable

Published

Tuesday, Fox News reported:

“Despite President Trump’s tit-for-tat trade barbs, America’s CEOs are not wasting anytime in taking advantage of his tax reform plan. Over $300 billion was repatriated to the U.S. in the first quarter, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) — the most on record.

“U.S. firms that used to build their factories overseas in order to avoid U.S. taxes, they stopped in their tracks because of the tax bill, they are bringing all the money home,” said Kevin Hassett, chair of the president’s Council of Economic Advisers, during an interview on FOX Business’ Varney & Co. in June.”

Dave Brat: Everyone Should Get To Enjoy The Dignity of Work-Keep Farm Bill

Published

on

Monday, Rep. Dave Brat, (R-Virginia) has an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal making the case to keep the House-passed work requirement provisions in the 2018 Farm Bill.

“Get to work Senators,” wrote Brat, a member of the House Freedom Caucus.

“This week a congressional conference committee gets to work resolving the differences between the House and Senate versions of the 2018 farm bill, which authorizes the federal food-stamp program. Among the most contested issues will be the work requirements for able-bodied, single adults passed by the House. Republicans must stand up for fiscal responsibility and the dignity that comes with work.

I am deeply concerned for the poor and vulnerable. I believe in a social safety net for those who are truly in need. Unfortunately, America’s current safety nets don’t always live up to their promise or purpose. Since 1965, the percentage of working-age men outside the labor force—that is, men who are neither working nor seeking work—has more than tripled, rising from 3.3% to 11.6%. If we really want to combat poverty, we should evaluate how successful our social programs are at moving people off public assistance—not how many stay on. The Democrats’ preferred welfare strategy encourages dependency on government. The GOP would like to see welfare recipients become self-sustaining workers. The reason is simple: Work affirms human dignity,” said Bratt.

BRAT WANTS TO ALLOW EVERYONE THE DIGNITY OF WORK

With the historic low unemployment numbers in black and Hispanic populations, Brat wants everyone to enjoy the opportunity of hard work. Democrats resist this message.  Brat calls on the Senate to support his economic ideas.

STANDING UP FOR THE LITTLE GUY

In this 2014 WSJ article, “Dave Brat the Economics Professor Who Defeated Eric Cantor

“Mr. Brat’s victory was fueled by fury with the GOP establishment on fiscal issues and immigration.  He campaigned on opposing the 2008 government bailout program, the budget deal reached by Rep. Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D., Wash.) and a general sense that leadership ignored the little people.

“The lives of most Americans aren’t getting any better year after year.  Their wages are down or flat as the cost of living is going up.”

[Walk Away] Larry Elder and Mason Weaver Dispute Leftist Media’s Claims Of A Racist America

Published

on

Sunday, a man who calls himself a “Sage of South Central”, a Conservative radio host who talks about concepts of racism in America turned to Twitter to remind young blacks of a historic tale of self-reliance and hard work.

“She chose to work,” said the narrator. “She spent 75 years working.” “She worked hard and saved her money,”you can hear in the voice over.

As reported by the New York Times  1995 article:

“Oseola McCarty spent a lifetime making other people look nice. Day after day, for most of her 87 years, she took in bundles of dirty clothes and made them clean and neat for parties she never attended, weddings to which she was never invited, graduations she never saw.

She had quit school in the sixth grade to go to work, never married, never had children and never learned to drive because there was never any place, in particular, she wanted to go. All she ever had was the work, which she saw as a blessing. Too many other black people in rural Mississippi did not have even that, “they reported.

In 1999, when she died at 91 years old, The New York Times wrote of her :

“She had not even known exactly what the word ”philanthropy” meant, but the elderly washerwoman who gave away practically every dollar she ever made to endow a scholarship fund for poor students in Mississippi would become a symbol of selfless giving.

Oseola McCarty, who gave away a life savings of $150,000 to help complete strangers get a college education at the University of Southern Mississippi here in her hometown.”

THAT IS MORE THAN DEMOCRAT POLITICIANS HAVE DONE:

In his 2016 article, author Graham Gulsman of Columbia University wrote in his paper:

The Unfortunate Truth of Democratic Urban Governance

“Referencing data collected by the U.S. Census Bureau, CBS News composed a list of the top ten most impoverished cities in the United States. The ubiquity of Democratic governance is heightened in this context, as nine out of the ten poorest cities are run by Democrats. Combining the past ten mayors of the three poorest cities — Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Detroit — there are twenty-three Democrats, three Socialists, two Independents, and two Republicans.

In essence, the three most impoverished cities in America have seen more governance in the past 50 years by Socialists than by Republicans, and the ratio of Democratic governance to Republican governance is about 12:1. And yet, Republicans are maligned as being unsympathetic to the poor, with 55 percent of Democrats claiming to be “afraid” of Republicans, and 35 percent viewing Republicans as “immoral,” according to the Pew Research Center. Unfortunately, the trend does not stop here.”
